We stayed upstairs in “Loke Lani” with another couple for 2 weeks in Feb. & March of 2011. The location was excellent, in a real neighborhood with the bay a short walk away…. in which we swam with the dolphins. Snorkeling was excellent off nearby Manini Beach and at Honaunau, a short drive away, and kayaks can be rented across the street. It is a character place, very narrow, but with wrap around decks and a large deck on the end. The communal 3rd floor lanai has a great view of the bay and sunsets. The owners were very accommodating. Our unit has an outdoor kitchen in the back, which we much enjoyed, though we ended up buying a few items from the thrift shop up the hill to round out the dishware.

We would recommend “The White Ship” as we called it, highly and plan to return.

What a great place for a vacation away! I stayed here a while back and enjoyed my time so much I will be going back for Christmas! The roof top balcony is exceptional; it offers fantastic picturesque views of the water. Great for those that love the outdoors, this house embraces the beautiful outdoor elements. Enjoy, relax and let your worries slip away at this great, peaceful location.

This Island is not a tourist trap, so enjoy real life Hawaii. Definitely scout out some macadamia nut pie! Yum Yum! This house is great and as described.

We had such a lovely time in Kona, have stayed at a couple of different places, but this house is where we’ll stay from now on – it’s just beautiful!!It looks out over the bay, and is on an off the beaten path road, that is perfect for walks near the water before the sun goes down.If you’re not familiar with Hawaii, everything slows to a stop when the sun drops off into the ocean.. everyone pauses for a minute to watch it..

I know the owners rent different floors when they’re not there, (Hi Arlen and Sylvia!) we had the 2nd floor along with the top floor that has a just beautiful view! We went kayaking in the bay, saw dolphins swimming all around us, we did a ton of snorkeling, and got to enjoy the peaceful vacation we always wanted. (And Arlen helped me crack open a fresh coconut I found on the road!) BONUS The outdoor kitchen is perfect and there is a nice little yard. The house is clean and tidy, you can see by the photos, actually designed and built by the owner!

If you’ve never been to Kona, this vacation rental is not too far out of town, and has personality to boot! My husband and I loved staying here and I hope your vacation turns out just as great!
